About the Business
With our wide range of contacts and our many years of experience we aim to source antique furniture that is in clean original and honest condition and not in need of extensive restoration, this is how we like to buy it and how we prefer to sell it, we take great pride in the high quality of our stock. We feel confident we can offer you a very good product at a very good price. We welcome enquiries from retail and wholesale customers with open arms. Wakeman Antiques can trace its origins back over five generations and 130 years.
Originally based in Redhill, Surrey, the early years are understandably sketchy, but we do know that Albert Wakeman made a living from trading in antique furniture. The next generation, Albert junior and Fred traded as Wakeman Brothers from premises on the Brighton Road, Redhill. In 1965 Albert's son, also Albert (just to confuse you) and his wife Joyce moved to Wolverhampton with their family.
